CLEANLINESS
(1)Bath advisable when smelling due to
excessive sweating
Bukhari
Volume 3, Book 34, Number 2071:
Narrated Aisha:
The companions of Allah's Apostle
(s) used to practice manual labor, so their sweat used to smell, and they were advised to take a
bath.
(2) Believer
never becomes impure

CHAPTER. (What is said regarding) the sweat of a Junub. And a Muslim
never becomes impure.
Bukhari
Volume 1, Book 5, Number 283:
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah's Apostle (s) came across me
and I was Junub He took my hand and I went along with him till he sat down I
slipped away, went home and took a bath. When I came back he was still sitting
there. He then said to me, "O Abu Huraira! Where have you been?' I told
him about it The Prophet (s) said, "Subhan Allah! O Abu Huraira! A
believer never becomes impure."
Note: After having sexual relations or nocturnal discharge a believer
is not in a permanent state of impurity like a disbeliever as mentioned in Ayah
28 of Surah 9, such a person is allowed to sit with others even seat of such
person is not impure. (From explanation given in Urdu translation)
“O Believers, the mushriks are
unclean; therefore let them not come near the Masjid-i-Haram 25 after this year (of their
pilgrimage); if you fear poverty Allah will enrich you, out of His bounty if He
wills: for Allah is All-knowing, All-Wise.” (9:28)

Volume 1, Book 6, Number 306:
Narrated 'Aisha:
Fatima bint Abi Hubaish said to
Allah's Apostle (s), "O Allah's Apostle! I do not become clean (from
bleeding). Shall I give up my prayers?" Allah's Apostle (s) replied:
"No, because it is from a blood vessel and not the menses. So when the
real menses begins give up your prayers and when it (the period) has finished
wash the blood off your body (take a bath) and offer your prayers."
Note: Sublime knowledge of Prophet (s) and frank interaction with companions, irrespective of gender when teaching & guiding is worth noting, who is reported; was more shy (Modest) than a virgin in her separate room. (Bukhari Volume 8, Book 78, Number 6102: [6119])
(4) Prophet (s) preferred not using a towel

Volume 1, Book 5, Number 274:
Narrated Maimuna bint Al-Harith:
I placed water for the bath of
Allah's Apostle (s) and put a screen. He poured water over his hands, and
washed them once or twice. (The sub narrator added that he did not remember if
she had said thrice or not). Then he poured water with his right hand over his
left one and washed his private parts. He rubbed his hand over the earth or the
wall and washed it. He rinsed his mouth and washed his nose by putting water in
it and blowing it out. He washed his face, forearms and head. He poured water
over his body and then withdrew from that place and washed his feet. I
presented him a piece of cloth (towel) and he pointed with his hand (that he does
not want it) and did not take it.
Bukhari
Volume 1, Book 5, Number 276:
Narrated Maimuna:
Water was placed for the ablution of
Allah's Apostle (s) after
Janaba. He poured water with his right hand over his left twice or thrice and
then washed his private parts and rubbed his hand on the earth or on a wall
twice or thrice and then rinsed his mouth, washed his nose by putting water in
it and then blowing it out arid then washed his face and forearms and poured
water over his head and washed his body. Then he shifted from that place and
washed his feet. I brought a piece of cloth, but he did not take it and removed
the traces of water from his body with his hand."

CHAPTER. The washing out of semen with water and rubbing it off (when it is
dry) and the washing out of what comes out of women (i.e. discharge).

Volume 1, Book 4, Number 229:
Narrated 'Aisha:
I used to wash the traces of Janaba
(semen) from the clothes of the Prophet (s) and he used to go for prayers while
traces of water were still on it (water spots were still visible).

Volume 1, Book 4, Number 231:
Narrated Sulaiman bin Yasar:
I asked 'Aisha about the clothes
soiled with semen. She replied, "I used to wash it off the clothes of
Allah's Apostle (s) and he would go for the prayer while water spots were still
visible."
(6) Sleeping after intercourse – Ablution enough

Volume 1, Book 5, Number 286:
Narrated Abu Salama:
I asked 'Aisha "Did the Prophet
(s) use to sleep while he was Junub?" She replied, "Yes, but he used
to perform ablution (before going to bed).
Bukhari
Volume 1, Book 5, Number 287:
Narrated 'Umar bin Al-Khattab:
I asked Allah's Apostle (s) "Can
any one of us sleep while he is Junub?" He replied, "Yes, if he
performs ablution, he can sleep while he is Junub."
(7) Urethral discharge – Perform ablution only
(51) CHAPTER. Whosoever felt shy (to ask
something) and then requested another person to ask on his behal
Bukhari Volume 1, Book 3, Number 132:
Narrated Ali:
I used to get the emotional urethral discharge frequently so I requested Al-Miqdad to ask the Prophet (s) about it. Al-Miqdad asked him and he replied, "One has to perform ablution (after it)." (See Hadith No.269).
Note: Shyness on the part of Ali is worth noting.
